Not a lot of people may believe this, but a lemon is not merely a tasty fruit but a high source of vitamins and other nutrients. It is believed to be one of the fruits containing all the necessary ingredients for improving skin tone and treating many health issues. Whole dried lemons are extensively used for cooking purposes in Middle Eastern countries. Countries in the subcontinent also used dried lemon as a spice in the food. Great taste is associated with this yellow colored fruit. The size of a lemon varies according to the area of its production. Lemons produced in Nepal are usually of large size but are not so juicy. Dried lemons contain all the nutrients that are present in fresh fruit.

Fresh lemons when ripe are washed and boiled in salt water. After complete boiling, these lemons are allowed to dry in sunlight where water contents are removed to the maximum extent. Dried lemons can be kept for two years in the same conditions. However, special measures need to be taken to retain the taste and nutrition of this fruit. Dried lemon can be used for garnishing purposes. Make small slices of the dried pieces of lemon and use them on the top edge of glass containing orange juice. It can also be used for marinating friable fish. Dried lemons are added to the fish spice to arouse special taste.

Dried lemons are surely magical in health effects but on the other side they are also allergens. Make sure that you are not allergic of lemons before using them.
